On the lane which runs between Moorside Farm and the village of Flasby in the Yorkshire Dales, are two distinctive eighteenth-century barns. This picture shows these buildings and the typical Yorkshire Dales dry stone walls linking them, at twilight on an evening late in the year.
Beyond the clatter of the jackdaws leaving to roost, there's a stillness this evening in the lengthening shadows on the lane from Moorside and yet, there's a desolate beauty in the late year twilight where the hollow empty moan of the wind sweeps the landscape like an aching loneliness.
